PERGOLA AWNINGS
Characteristics and advantages of sliding awnings
The sliding awnings with aluminum structure are designed to protect terraces and gardens from the sun and rain. It is a type of awning with which you can cover large spaces of up to 7.00 mts. x 7.00 mts. in a single module, or much larger areas with added modular sections. The product consists of a structure that supports guides with an open section on the bottom and through which the sliding awning slides through rollers with internal bearings of different heights with the function of giving the awning an unevenness to evacuate the rainwater laterally.
The canvas of the awning is made with individual sheaths supported by double macaroni aluminum crossbars (sticks), to make its replacement more agile in the case of a change of canvas or repair.
The structure and the guides can have different sizes depending on the width and exit of the awning.
In small sizes, you usually put a structure and guides of 80 x 40 mm or 110 x 80 mm and in large sizes you work with a structure of 110 x 110 mm or 120 x 120 mm
The colors of the aluminum can be with the following rales:
White, Black Textured, Bronze Textured, Gray 7016 Textured, Silver Textured, Gray 7022, Gray 7016, Gray 7011, and Brown 8014.
The aluminum is extruded with direct press and finished with the powder coating system, hardened at high temperatures of the Qualicoat brand with guarantee certificate QC-0706.
All fixings and pins are made of stainless steel, to guarantee maximum durability and mechanical resistance over the years.
The most common fabrics for making runners are Solar-Pro acrylic canvas, technical fabrics or PVC with internal reinforcement mesh.
Solar Pro canvas and PVC are waterproof fabrics. The canvas has a water resistance of 300 b/p. This means that if we adapt double or triple height displacement rollers to the sliding awning, we can get the water to move laterally and not cause internal losses through the fabric.
For the cases of tarpaulins in which you want to make exclusive use of the rain, there is a waterproof tarpaulin with a capacity of 1000 b/p. 1 bar = 10.2 mca (water column meters)
The opening and closing system is made through a central rope circuit and pulleys that make the awning open and close very easily.
The system also allows you to put a motor, in this case, some guides are put with an internal transmission belt system.
All pergolas with sliding awnings can be complemented with vertical closing awnings, made with the full range of fabrics that the market offers us for these systems.
The installation of this type of awning can be done between walls, where there are only the two support guides for the awning, with a front door when the structure is attached to a wall, or with a double door when the structure is individual in the center of a terrace or garden, for example.
When it is a double goal, perimeter profiles are always placed throughout the flight to guarantee the maximum stability of the structure.
Regarding the number of guides in a single module, a third central guide is always placed from 5.00 mts to ensure that the cross members support the weight of the water well.
As for the tension of the tarpaulin, it is always more advisable that it remains taut once stretched, as this way, in the event of wind, it has less impact.
It is an awning that withstands adverse atmospheric factors very well since its structure and displacement sticks give it a lot of stability when it is open.
Protective flaps are placed in the collection area for when the tarpaulin is closed and thus prevent the accumulation of water and moisture inside.
